can a person with hpv get pregnant?this is a research and i need a fast answer.thank you?

hpv means human papilloma virus..i just need answers. Its a school work and by the way I’m a nursing student.thanks

I’m pretty sure but it’d be passed down to the baby and the baby would have a chance of being hpv positive…

Yes a person with HPV can get pregnant and the virus poses no risk to the baby whatsoever,strains of the HPV virus can increase the risk of cervical cell abnormalities that may later turn to cervical cancer if not treated but it will not harm a pregnancy or affect fertility.

As per Serena Chen, a fertility expert: “The presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) by itself should not affect a women’s ability to get pregnant. But in some cases, having HPV can increase her risk of developing precancerous or cancerous cells in her cervix, which could affect both her fertility and her ability to carry a baby to term”.

a person with hpv can get pregnant and not pass it to the baby… i was diagnosed with hpv over 6yrs ago and am pregnant with my 4th baby

Yes, you can become pregnant if you have HPV. An HPV infection usually doesn’t cause infertility.

There is a small risk of passing the virus to a new born, if this rare event occurs it can affect the child’s vocal cords or larynx. The condition is called RRP or Recurrent Respiratory Papilloma
