Can you get an STD from just touching an infected part?

if you touch your boyfriend’s genital area and he has an std (like small bumps) can you contract the disease? i need this for health class.

it is possible depending on the disease. syphilis is very contagious, all stds are for that matter. it depends on the conditions.

most likely std’s come from bodily fluid exchange or from genital to genital contact or oral contact. anything if possible though.

Genital contact, oral contact – where their is fewer layers of skin on the body carry a significant risk when coming in contact with certain STD’s such as genital warts. Your hands won’t become infected with genital warts because their are more layers of skin in your hands, therefore protecting your body from infection (increased risk if skin is broken). However if you touch an STD like warts with your hands and then transfer those shedded cells on your fingers to another part of your body (by wiping mouth or rubbing your eyes) you can transfer the STD this way,

YES, IF IT IS HERPES, WHICH IS HIGHLY INFECTIOUS.
