Can you get an STD from laundry?

by Rachel on April 19, 2011

I do not have the money or time to wash my clothes twice every time I do laundry. Yet I hear this is the only way to avoid getting an STD. This cannot possibly be true I mean, come on, STDS cannot survive in laundry, can they? I really can’t afford to wash everything twice and my clothes cannot handle boiling water.

No this is ridiculous . You cant get STD from laundry. You only get STD by having intercourse. Not by someones laundry.

Just think of what the letters stand for. You can not possibly get a sexually transmitted disease from laundry. Avoid getting an STD by not having sex or using protection. Those are the only ways.

No you cannot get STD’s from the laundry. (but if you do, let me know and I can get published in a medical journal as the first case)

Just wash your clothes normally… STD’s don’t survive the laundry process. Just like they don’t survive on toilet seats… but then again too many people believe thats how they caught it.

This is silly. MOST STD’s you will not get from cleaning, so don’t worry about those ones that you will not get.

If you could get and STD from the laundry wouldn’t it be called LTD’S…. ? That’s the silliest thing I ever heard… Don’t believe it and tell ALL your friends that the only way you can get an STD is by having unsafe and unprotected sex with someone that’s infected.. So, play safe and be smart… Also, doing laundry shouldn’t be dangerous.. So, keep washing your own clothes…

good luck
