According to webmd.com, warts are caused by HPV. So, in theory, if someone has sexual activity with someone who has warts on their hands, can you become infected and have it cause cervical cancer or something?

Warts anywhere on the body are of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) virus. Warts found on the hands, feet, elbows – areas that are not genital are not associated with the HPV types that are considered STI and found on the penis, vulva, anal area – anywhere in the genital area that are commonly transmitted through sex and sex play.
Common HPV types….the HPV types found on the hands, feet.
1, 2, 4, 26, 27, 29, 41, 57, 65
HPV types are numbered in the order that they were found and sequenced.
Warts for the most part are site specific….meaning the HPV types that affect the hand, feet stay on these area….and HPV types that affect the penis, vulva, anal area stay in this area.
They are 40 genital HPV types – genital HPV types are grouped into low risk – the HPV types not commonly found in genital cancer and high risk HPV types – types that left untreated and allowed to persist and progress that have the potential to cause cervical, vulva, anal and some oral cancers.
High risk genital HPV types – 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 68, 73, 82, 26, 53, 66
Low risk genital HPV types – 6, 11, 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 61, 70, 72, 81
Genital HPV types have also been found in the oral area…and are most commonly transmitted via oral sex.
Most genital warts are low risk HPV types 6 or 11…these low risks HPV types are not associated with cervical cancer.

No, the same way that you can’t get aids by shaking a hand of one that has it, or by sitting an a toilet seat and catching anything. hpv is natures way of telling you to remain celibate until you are married, or committed for life to one person. Stay clean, Be clean, No worries.
