HPV is a female issue only. It is not a STD it is a controllable issue that they can take care of themselves.

No worries on your end man…

It is to an STD !!! Men can get it too! But it is rare and only genital contact. And no it doesn’t hurt, and no you won’t get it on your finger! Just make sure you wash your hands. Why doesn’t she go to the doctor? HPV can be treated.

you will most likely not become infected if you finger her, but there is always that possibility, you could use a glove. HPV is a virus, it cannot be treated, there are a few strains that cause cancer that can be prevented with a vaccine. Sometimes it can clear up on its own. You can catch it if you have unprotected sex, and even protected sex since it can be caught from skin to skin contact. there are many strains that will never show in a man even though he will be a carrier, and the women may never show symptoms either. There are a few strains that cause warts, and some of those strains cause cancer. If it is a strain that cannot be detected by visible warts , most people never even know they have it. Some women will have cervical cancer caused by it and they find out then. but 80% of the population are carriers and do not even know it.

HPV IS NOT JUST A FEMALE ISSUE. HPV AFFECTS MEN IN SERIOUS WAYS, TOO.

Sorry about that, but I get frustrated when I hear people referring to HPV as a solely female issue.

If the girl you are fingering has an HPV infection it is possible that if your finger comes into contact with the virus and then you immediately touched your genitals, anal area, or your mouth that you could infect yourself.

Most likely you wouldn’t even notice the infection unless you acquire a wart-causing strain of HPV.

But, depending on the strain you acquire, location of infection, the state of your immune system, whether or not you are a smoker, your own genetics, there is the possibility of:
-anal squamous cell carcinoma (anal cancer)
-cancer of the upper airway tract
-anogenital warts
-cancer of the penis

Most of the above are fairly rare, but if you are HIV+, have a history of anal warts, (if you were female) a history of vaginal/vulvar HPV infections, or are a man who has sex with men you would be at increased risk for some of the above. In the case of HIV, at a much larger increased risk.

That being said, I wouldn’t be concerned about fingering. Just be aware any time you come into contact with genital secretions/skin there is the possibility of acquiring/transmitting STIs. If you are concerned, it is easy to take out a condom and put it on your finger before fingering.
