Christians – sometimes you do evil things. WHY?

You try to stop people from having premarital sex. That’s not a horrible thing. But HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is now the the most common STD in the US. It infects over 1/2 the american population and causes thousands of women per year to DIE. There is now a vaccine for HPV that is not only safe – but extremely effective. IN a clinical trial of 6000 women – it was 100% effective. That’s right – 100% immunity. You would think that we would all be screaming to get the vaccine into every single one of our wives, mothers and daughters. Not the Christian conservatives in our government.. NO – they think the threat cervical cancer is a valuable impediment to premarital sex. These pious men and women want to preserve cervical cancer as an incentive towards abstainence.
Would the world have been better off if these conservatives had been aborted by their mothers weilding a rusty coat hanger? I say yes. How dare they prolong and promote suffering for a religious agenda.EVIL
OK – but you idiots are all the ones yelling about lower taxes and the like. Healthcare is one of our biggest problems. Do you think that measels and smallpox vaccines shouldn’t be administered either? All your arguments sound very small minded.

I am by no means devoutly religious. The bible teaches aginst sex outside of marriage therefore the church follows suit. It is that simple.

No, but I don’t want the State of Texas telling me that I have to have my 12 year old child vaccinated, I would prefer to wait and see what the side affects are.

The vaccine sounds like it would help women and girls… so, it should be a choice of thiers and thier family to make, whether or not they get one. Premarital sex should still not be engaged in… of course that is also a choice. I for one do not believe in threatening people.

All Christians are not evil. I was talking to a mother of a 13 year old the other day about this same thing. She did not want the government to tell her she had to have her child vaccinated against something that is not a worry for her child since her child is not sexually active. All I could say to her was yes now but she will be. She was not even concerned with the Christian aspect of it and most parents are not.

God gave us free will. We are all flawed right now. One example is people don’t like Mormons because they go by the devil’s info.

Hello,
I guessed your overall concern to me is not about the moral standards in the bible but the policies that has been set in your country set by your leaders. I guess you got to make it clear in your question.
The bible says that all humans beings are sinful and “fall short of the glory of God.” Indeed, STDs are one of the result of the fallen sinful world. For STDs, even after marriage, you can get it from your partner if your partner has been sleeping around not to mention pre marital sex. I am sure you have heard of cause and effects. The bible says that our human nature cannot save ourselves. But, God being God loves human beings so much that He sent Jesus Christ, His Son to die for our sins on the cross. Those who believe in Him will not perish but have enternal life. We cause the world to be fallen not God.
Back to the pre-marital sex issue, in the bible it says that sex is a beautiful and holy event that should be taken seriously and the best-it is for the wedding night for someone God has planned for you, for someone you vow to committ and marry to. That’s the best plan. But, many of us fall short to the perfect plan and give into temptations. Did God send a fire down to destroy us for doing that? No, He sent Jesus to save us from our sins. But, we need tor realise that all we did was wrong. God wants the best for us. I experience that.
I am sure there are better channels to speak about your views regarding the STDs problem. Why don’t you write a petition to your leaders. There is no point grumbling over the internet and blaming on Christians values when you do not know about Chrisitainity. It’s not just a set of senseless religious practices. I urge you to go find out more. Seek and you will find.

Warm regards
dereling
