This is usually found during your PAP test that you have annually.

No, HPV is not detected in a blood test.

A Pap test looks for abnormal cell changes of the cervix. You can carry and HPV type with no abnormal cell changes no visible external genital warts. An HPV test confirms that you have high risk HPV types.

A Pap test is a screening for the cervix only. A Pap test does not tell you if you have HPV of the vulva, vaginal canal or the anus. There is no overall test to diagnosis HPV.

i have HSV and HPV and i have always had normal results on my PAP. but then again they are usually diagnosed visually.

there is no blood test for them. usually a doctor takes a peek to look. but this is NOT a fail safe measure. as my BF had an outbreak and we went to the DR. She was very positive that it was NOT HSV. she said it was a rash and told us it was ok to have sex. 4 days later i went to another DR and learned i now have herpes. thanks doc!
