you can get hpv with out having sex and the only other ways of getting it is oral sex or sex period. they had a shot for it for years but now are recalling it because it has caused a lot of deaths of women. men can also get it but its more common in women

Did you recently buy a pair of underwear and not wash them before wearing them? I’m not sure if that can cause it, just an idea.

Mmm HPV Is passed down from Generation.. if your mother had it you probably had it.
It’s not necessarily a STD actually..

HPV is spread through skin contact. No sex required.

Let’s say that a guy has genital warts. Then he touches his genitals and infects his hands. Then you shake his hand. Then you touch your own genitals. Boom . . . you’ve just gotten yourself a genital HPV infection.

I know. It sucks.

All strains of HPV are transmitted through skin contact, sexual activity is not at all required. Don’t worry about HPV, there is evidence that the human body is capable of fighting off the infection even though there is no technical cure, and you can always get the warts removed. In fact, the stats for people contracting HPV are through the roof! It’s something like 80% of sexually active people that pick up a strain at some point, so if that many people contract it regardless of protective methods I’m sure its possible to pick it up in other ways. By the way, contrary to an earlier post, there was no vaccine for genital warts, the HPV strains that the vaccine prevented were not the strains that caused warts. But here is some good news: the strain that causes warts does not cause cervical cancer! Try not to drive yourself crazy wondering how you contracted it… it’s not the end of the world, trust me. :)
