Have a bunch of leaflets or print off some information off the net in case he doesn’t know anything about it then invite him to your place for coffee or lunch, and just tell him.
Have a friend (preferably one who knows) be ready to come to you in case he doesn’t take it well and you need a shoulder to cry on.
You can never know if it will ‘ruin everything’ or not, but he has a right to know what he might be exposing himself to if you two become intimate.
If he moves on, then he wasn’t a good match for you. To be honest, I wouldn’t become intimate with someone I knew had a contagious condition I could acquire through our intimacy.
I’m sorry you are dealing with this, but anyone considering being intimate with you has the right to decide for themselves if they want to deal with it or not.
You just have to tell him what you have. Did you know that 70% if people have it and don’t even know it… Sometimes an outbreak will only happen once, if any at all. I am plus one too.
I told my boyfriend 5 years ago and now we’re almost engaged.
say that you need to have a serious talk with him.
and tell him, and if he is okay with it, then you have found you a good guy.
Tell him. It will hurt him more to get it than to find out.
