If you get any medical testing done it will be documented. Period. It’s against the law to not document something like that. However, it shouldn’t be automatically sent to your primary care physician and definitely not without your written permission. Basically, unless you sign something that says it will be sent to your doctor, then you should be fine. But double check with planned parenthood, just to be sure. To be even more sure, write something in your handwriting saying you do not want the information to be distributed without notifying you first. Sign it. Then the only way they could do it without your permission would be if you were unconscious and the doctor treating you at that time needed it to properly treat you.

HOWEVER, if you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian can have access to those files, even if you were to write something saying you didn’t want it distributed.
