There is NO test to detect HPV in men.
Most men don’t know they have HPV until they develop genital warts. However, not everyone with HPV develops warts. So, a man can have the virus, spread it to others, and be totally unaware of it.
Also, HPV is NOT a “woman’s disease”. Men can be DIRECTLY affected by HPV, just like women can. Men can develop genital warts (my fiance did) and they can also rarely develop penile and anal cancer! The only reason HPV is a big deal for women is because of the cervical cancer it can cause which kills thousands of women every year.
Right now there is no vaccine for men to protect themselves from contracting HPV. Gardasil is only approved for young women. There are study trials going on though to find out if Gardasil can be used on men, but it hasn’t been approved yet.

There is NO way for a man to know if he has HPV unless he is exhibiting genital warts.
There is no test that a man can take. It does not show up in blood.
Women find out via a papsmear which tests the cervix, but males do not have a cervix to test.
The other way a male would know is if his girlfriend/ partner has the virus.
A woman’s disease? Both men and women can have HPV, its just that women can have more complications from it. There is no test avail to see if a man has HPV, other than a Dr looking at the warts, and taking a biopsy to confirm. There is NO shot to just make them go away, because its a virus. There are no cures to viruses, but you can be treated for the outbreaks. Do a google on HPV or genital warts to get some good info.
