Im curious about the Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine/Shot?

Well I am a person who is terrified to get shots :P

And my mother and father are urging me to get one but other that the fear of the needle Im seeing other things about it like…

Delayed period
3 shots (oh noes D: )
Bleeding constantly while on period
Hurting like hell

Are these true?

I don’t think that the shot effects your period.

I think the real side effects are pain or swelling, and you can’t have it if you’re allergic to yeast.

I definitely think you should get it, shots really are NOT that painful, and they certainly aren’t as bad as genital warts or cervical cancer!!

Just remember that the HPV vaccine does NOT protect against every single strain of HPV so you still need to be careful (use condoms) and get pap smears.

This could prevent cervical cancer! You should definitely get the shot if you’re able!

It is three shots, ‘hurts like hell’ isn’t how it’s usually described. Soreness and redness on the injection site, sometimes a low-grade fever and sick feeling as your body ramps up to fight an infection.

Interfering with your period is not an effect of it, the two you’re describing are side effects of birth control, particularly progesterone-only birth control.
