Is a person obligated to tell past and future lovers that they are infected with a serious STD?

It seems like telling potential lovers that you are infected with a serious STD would hinder the chances of ever getting laid again.

yes they are required under penalty of incarceration. So which would choose a free sexless life or a locked up sexless life?

Well it’s better than being an indirect murderer, right?

You would be a huge dick head if you didn’t. Plus, I’m pretty sure someone could easily sue, and win, over that.

uh duh… as well it should. Do you think you should pass your shit around to everybody just so you can get some? You should stop getting laid if you have an STD. Plain and simple.

Well yes. You need to tell them. It would hinder your chances of ‘getting laid’ but then it’s their decision to make.

Morally, ethically, yes.

Legally, not necessarily. In some jurisdictions it is illegal to have unprotected sex with someone if you know you are HIV+ and don’t wear a condom.
However in most states it would be legal to not tell your partner you have herpes. It would be legal in most jurisdictions for someone with HIV to have sex with someone without warning them as long as they always wore a condom.

Yes, get a backbone and don’t put other people through what you are suffering.

If you are currently being treated for an STD, you are told specifically not to have sex while you are on the medication. If you cannot wait that long and neglect to tell someone, there are legal recourses for your partner that can make your life a very very poor one while you are paying off the tens of thousands in lawsuit penalties. If you deliberately infect a person with HIV, you go to prison for it.

If you are being treated for an std then its probably not contagious. Pretty sure you’re clean. Get as much tail as you can!

Listen here, Donnie. I’m a firm believe in being 100% truthful. If you’re with a partner and she wants to get a little frisky then that’s great. The problem is that you have a STD what should you do? Well, in my case, once I start getting in the mood I’m not going to remember to pump the brakes and and have a Q and A session with my soon to be entertainment for the night. If she wants to ask before the bedroom (or car or backyard or garage) scene unfolds then yeah, I’ll tell her straight up that I have a STD and she should PROCEED with caution and I’ll wear protection and everything will be ok. If she doesn’t ask then that’s her problem and we’ll both have something in common. I’m not here to give clinics on STDs or doctor visits but here to give my woman a good time and by gosh she’ll have one hell of a night.
