Is It Possible To Get Hpv From The Shot?

by Rachel on February 13, 2010

I havn’t been sexually active in about 4 months and just recently in this past month and a half I have a few of these red painless bumps on the outer side of my left lip on my vagina. I Got the HPV shot about 3 months ago and warts is one of the symptoms. I got tested during xmas time for any STD’s and I was clean and haven’t done anything since. What and why could this be?

The vaccine does not contain any live virus. It is a virus like particle.
There is no screening test for HPV of the vulva. HPV is not screened for in any STI panel. A pap smear looks for abnormal cell changes of the vulva but a pap may also miss abnormal cervical cell changes. An HPV test usually follows a Pap that has found abnormal cell changes. The Pap does not collect any vulva cells. The FDA approved HPV test does not screen for low risk HPV types of the cervix. Any one you have had sex with could have transmitted the virus and never show a wart.
The vaccine only prevents HPV types that you have not been exposed to.
See you doctor and find out what these bumps are so that they can be treated.
I wish you well.

when u get a hpv shots the hpv is in the shot (only a little bit) and is injected in your blood stream to see how your body reacts to it it seems to me that your body isnt reacting very well to it. go and see a doctor.
