Is there another purpose to a pap smear other than checking for HPV and cervical cancer?

Anybody, I appreciate the feedback, but this has nothing to do with my primary physician. I see a female for pelvic exams and I was just curious. By the way, I am letting the whole crush go as I know it is never going to happen and it shouldn’t ever happen. I don’t want to lose a good doctor as they are hard to find.

I have noticed that you ask a lot of questions related to (I think) YOUR doctor and is he interested in you…..I suspect that this question is related to that also…..

In the ER – we check for any evidence of sexually transmitted diseases. He probably wants to make sure that you are disease free before he hits on you…..

Giovanna – sorry for the insinuation….I just noticed a certain pattern there…glad I was wrong!!

2] visual exam of vagina, cervix – for STDs, bleeding, growths
