HPV Transmission

I don’t have any STD myself and I never met anyone who has HPV… When I thought about it, it must be hard for them, feeling insecure and all that. However, there IS a chance of having a successful sex/love life.
While it’s normal to be afraid of getting a STD through sex if they do have a STD, chances of not getting it are improved if protected with a condom or any kind of protection. Realistically, you don’t have to be afraid to have sex with those people if they really want a relationship with you and vice versa. Do what you can do to protect you both.
The question is… do you really want to let go one amazing person you’d want to spent your rest of life with but couldn’t because they or you have HPV or any kind of STD?
Personally, I won’t mind having sex with them as long as we’re protected and that we do love each other.

Some people think it is a great way to help prevent getting some forms of cervical cancer and it is a health concern that people should take seriously (4000 women will die from cervical cancer this year — taken from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention). But some people feel that it will provoke sexual activity with teens. Also, some people are afraid of what the long term effects may be if there are any. In the magazine “First–For women On The Go”, one woman from Florida stated in a poll that “it wouldn’t encourage sexual activity any more than a tetanus shot encourages kids to step on rusty nails” (June 18, 2007 issue, Page 6). What are your thoughts and opinions?

I want to get it done, but my mum is worried about the amount of research that has actually been done with this vaccine. On this website: http://www.immunisation.nhs.uk/hpv , it has hardly anything about the actual research that has been done with it. She’s worried that it’ll turn out like the morning sickness vaccine that turned out really bad.
Anyone know any FACTS about the research/ has anyone had the jab?

What do you think about the recent statistic put out today that 50% of women are infected with HPV?

is hpv basically like an std that ppl spread around to each other? why are women only concerned with it? if im having sex with my bf, and neither of us have had sex with anyone else or plan on it can we get it from each other? can i still get the shot even if im sexually active, even if its just with my bf?
