My girlfriend of 6 months has found out after a recent pap smear that she has an hpv strain. I think like cells that were carrying the condition. I heard from sources that you can carry contract hpv without sexual contact. They found some abnormal cells in her cervical region and they are going to test them for cancer. Do you think the test was incorrect? We have never had any physical contact at any point in our lives so I know I don’t have it. The problem is I want to have a life and future with her and hopefully have a family. Can someone give me more information and maybe something I can tell her to convince her I still love her and want to be with her?
I have ovarian cancer that will claim my life here. I also had an abnormal pap test in 2000 which was CIN2 as that was only pre cancerous cells. I since have had them removed. so do I still carry the HPV virus in my body from having pre cancer in 2000? and is it linked to ovarian cancer? Please serious replys only.

I am freaking out. I am terrified of std’s and getting them. This might sound like a stupid question to some but is there anyway I could get the infection because we share the same bathroom. She has told me before that sometimes she uses my towel but she doesn’t tell me this until after I use it again and I am freaking out. Please give me any information you can. I was diagnosed about 2 months ago with HPV, and I am unable to tell my husband. I don’t know how to tell him, that I have exposed him before I found out, or he could have been the one that gave it to me. I don’t know where I got it, but I have it. My doctor didn’t tell me which strain I had just that I needed to come back in 4 months to repeat the pap test. I don’t know if I have warts, or pre-cancer. I am going crazy. I don’t know what to do, he is getting upset because I won’t have sex with him. I need help, he is going to think that I am having an affair, when I am only trying to protect him from my nasty disease.
