And you and your partner already have unprotected sex? My doctor is saying that I have abnormal cells, is it ok to keep having unprotected sex with my boyfriend? Even after treatment? And is it true that once you both have that strain you cant get it again? Will having sex after treatment cause abnormal cells to form again even if I’m having sex with the same guy who has the same strain as me?

I have just learned that I have an abnormal pap. I have HPV, low grade and they want to do a colposcopy. I am 13 weeks pregnant and when they want to do the colposcopy I will be 17 weeks. I think that if its low grade why cant i just wait to have it taken care of 6 weeks post pregnancy?? I dont like the idea of having that performed when Im pregnant! Any thoughts?

Just wanted to know and what can she do to help boost her immunity to help? Is there any hope or will she die with it?

I have been doing a lot of reading on the HPV virus and vaccine and recently one of my friends was diagnosed with it. I went for my annual and my results were normal. I heard that HPV can lay dormant in the body up to 10 years and her doctor told her that the vaccine would still work if the virus was dormant and you have not been diagnosed. Does anyone know if this is true? I am married and monogamous but also paranoid and thinking about getting the shot for my safety. It has been approved for women 9 – 26 so I only have a year left to get the shots.

All the websites say not to have sex for two to three weeks after the procedure, but they say nothing about steps you should take to prevent needing to get the procedure again.
