What are the careers in ornithology after 12th std?

I am studying in 12th std. Science. I love Birds. I can Id more than 250 birds. ihave photographed 200 species. i have PCMB group. i am interested in Ornithology. scored 82% in 11th. 96/100 in biology. plz help.

I have a degree in zoology but mainly work as an ornithologist who studies endangered bird species. Having good ID skills in the field (sight and song) will help you greatly. You should try and major in biology, zoology, wildlife conservation, wildlife management, or something similar for your undergrad studies depending on what your university offers. If you want to go on to earn a masters or Phd, this is the time to focus on ornithology. Not too many universities offer ornithology degrees, so you would just make your focus on it and do your thesis on birds. If there are any internship opportunites or volunteer work involving birds..I would highly suggest you get involved (while still in school if possible). There may be some projects that professors on your campus are doing that you can help out with. Once out of school you can get involved with all sorts of seasonal bird work which will also give you the opportunity to travel if that is something you want to do. Permanent full time work can be found with government agencies, non-profits, environmental consultant firms, museums, or universites.
