What are The Side Effects Of The HPV vaccine?

by Rachel on January 25, 2011

I just got my HPV shot and was wondering about the side effects. The ladies giving them didn’t really give me a whole lot of information, i guess so I wouldn’t get scared. But I really want to know because I think I’m experiencing some side effects. And I want to see if they are serious. So if someone could leave me a website link, that would be great.

One of the side affects is getting HPV, but that’s ok because after you have it you won’t need the shot again. Clever isnt it?

Headache, fatigue, fever, muscle pain at injection site, swelling of injection site and itching of injection site seem to be the most common side efects of both Gardasil and Cervarix

Both injections have caused other more serious side effects

Everyone should be aware of all side effects of vaccine or any medications they take.

The vaccine does not prevents all genital HPV types. Cervarix prevents two high risk HPV types 16 and 18 and Gardasil prevents two low risk HPV types 6 and 11 and two high risk HPV types 16 and 18.
They are about 40 genital HPV types.

If you have engaged in sex before the vaccine….then the vaccine may not be as effective.
