What Is The Routine After Diagnosed With High Risk Hpv?

by Rachel on February 14, 2010

Doctor said in 6 months do another pap and then we’ll see if biopsy is needed. Is this common? I asked the doc if it would get worst in 6 months she said no. Anyone have info?

There are 2 things to consider: having high or low risk types (high, in your case, and the result on your pap smear, wich might go from normal to cancer.
Depending on those 2 things, your doctor will recommend u the next step. Having the pap smear repeated is correct, also taking a biopsy is correct.
Get a second opinion or just ask your doctor to explain things to you.

I had my biopsy done 4 weeks later, and found out I had cervical cancer. Get a second opinion.
