What is the treatment for genital warts? Can they be treated without a doctor?

I tested negative for HPV, but I have what appears to be genital warts. It is also causing a lot of discharge – like white mucus. I don’t have insurance so I’m not wanting to go to the doctor – do I have any other choices? Is there a discharge with warts?

there is no treatment without a doctor for genital warts. for any STD you will need a doctor to diagnose what you have and then write you a prescription that will fight it. only a doctor can write a prescription.

The HPV test is only a screening for the cervix. It does not screen the entire genital area. The HPV test only screens for 13 high risk HPV types….so you can be HPV negative and have one of the low risk HPV types that causes external genital warts.

There is no over the counter treatment for genital warts. Planned Parenthood may treat the warts for little to no cost. Call up your local areas office. Most often there is no discharge with warts….you may have something else going on with the genital warts…Planned Parenthood should be able to help you with both things that are going on.
